Merino wool is the fiber obtained from merino sheep.
This type of wool is particularly sought due to its fineness, depending on the hair of a merino sheep is thinner than the hair of a common sheep. Generally, a hair with a diameter of 20 microns or less comes from a merino sheep.
This particular characteristic, added to the other qualities of common wool, make it a highly prized fiber, ideal for certain garment packages. A garment of merino wool is in fact resistant to wear and tear like a common wool suit, but unlike this, being lighter, it can be worn even in the hottest seasons.
